Mirror Unison by Diane Webster

MIRROR UNISON

On the pond’s surface

a tree reflection

etches its shadow –

a woman dances

backwards same steps

as her man forwards.

A tossed rock ripples

the couple into a pirouette

of oneness until at last

an embrace balances the pair

in a mirror unison

right side up, upside down.
