HALLUCINATION

Blood crawled up to the brain, constant stress jarred the nerves, indolent flesh of burnt vision, about to lose myself.

Packs of ice on the thumping veins, insanely addicted to negativism, auditory hallucination, might be a prisoner of hell’s paradise.

Lips bleeding from the lies, brain boasting of the delusion of happiness, no one ended the discomfort in my chest.

Immense gloom gently twirled a lock of hair between my fingers, feet hummed at the tune of self-destruction.

A corpse, more beautiful than the body of antagonism,

a heavy flow of depressive tears, I no longer desire to breathe.

A chilled piece of cloth, head still aching,

the day I smiled for the last time.

Packs of – – – – – paradise!

THIS TIME

First laugh dyed the cemented home wall pink,

curtains shielded me from the reverberations of torment.

Hefty rugs handled the splinters of buried soul tenderly,

this time, it doesn’t feel the same.

The almirah answered my touch with an air of detachment,

dismal marble floor ruptured the cracked heels.

Muddied reflection in the mirror on the door,

unsympathetic towards my murdered appearance.

Delicate fingers of evil blemished the tablecloth,

I nonetheless, managed to breathe.

A long watch, the structure still sparkling with remnants of exuberant chatters, I waved goodbye, this time without my hands shaking.

Hefty rugs – – – – – the same!

A PURPLE WAVE

The nectar of a fallen lavender petal soon dried up,

soil covered her face, the field laid silent.

Stalk crippled by one’s own,

the breathtaking color lost its grace.

Mother couldn’t bear the colossal loss of life,

urged the wind to blow her away.

Tears frowned at the petals, father choked himself,

sudden extinction of my neighboring family.

Quite new to the concept of death, a little shiver cuddled me from behind, a purple wave of stillness soaked us all.

The rapid attack of pain reigned the fields, a long wait for nightfall, everything changed since then.

Stalk – – – – – its grace!

BARREN PLATFORM

Tracks of rust ceasing to exist,

gazing at the unfamiliar surroundings, eyes curious to absorb all.

Palms flattened against the window, a feeling of intense exhilaration, trains come and go, the station hesitant to socialize.

Straps of unburdened luggage in the compartment of jabber,

sleep-the dose, wrinkled soul often ingests.

The silence in the hawker’s words, the train whistled frequently,

potato crips fried in the oil of fun, intently I observed.

Some lost in the dance of fingertips, few found love,

night painted the window black.

The train lurched to a halt,

I stared at the barren platform.

Palms – – – – – socialize!

I have completed my graduation in Economics Honours from St. Xavier’s College, Jaipur, Rajasthan(India) and currently preparing for my Masters.
For me, poetry has been a tool to write on neglected matters. It aids me to weave the unspoken and an inexplicable contentment fills my heart when words finally reveal their beautiful meanings.
My poems have been published in the following magazines/journals:
Corvus review, the Black moon, Dreich, Brief Wilderness, Literary Yard, Littoral magazine, the Wise owl, Bosphorus review of books, Malaysian Indie fiction, Journal of expressive writing, etc.
